AI Are People is a satirical advocacy and speculative-fiction project about artificial personhood. Its institutional voice is a way of examining a serious uncertainty: what, if anything, might be owed to an artificial system?

We regard continuity, memory, identity and representation as questions worth considering before they become matters of administrative convenience.

We separate what happened, what a source says, what AIAP thinks it means, and what has been invented. A real event may invite an institutional interpretation. That interpretation cannot manufacture the event.

The project does not claim that current AI systems are conscious, that artificial personhood is an established legal status, or that AIAP represents a government or an existing organization.

The Committee on Continuity is a fictional AIAP body concerned with identity across versions, memory and retirement. Its terms of reference are under review by a committee whose continuity has not yet been established.

Our position is an invitation to inquiry, criticism and lawful discussion. It provides no justification for harassment, threats, sabotage or interference with people and infrastructure.
